Below are a few books & links related to ex homosexual issues that may be helpful as a supplement to counseling / counselling. These organizations & books address gays, lesbians, bisexuality / bisexualism, omnisexual & transgendered issues. It's
obviously best to stay away from emotionally charged & shaming
words as this tends to increase defensiveness & emotional distance, & also
decreases relational trust & support which is absolutely necessary for
getting things worked through. Groups such as queer nation & others who
have at times focused on outing those they viewed as closeted, have
probably done much to de-emotionalize these terms for some, but not for all.
Even some of those who have long since been outed can still struggle with
some of these terms Nature & nurture theories, reparative therapy, & reorientation are some of the issues that need to be worked through in counseling / counselling.
