PayPal

    The online payment system we use is PayPal.PayPal accepts credit card payments through Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover, as well as Debit Card (if it has a Visa or MasterCard logo) & direct Bank Account payments. They also accept & will convert (or let your credit card convert) the currencies of most countries (55 countries) into the Canadian dollar amount we have listed as the cost. You can easily & quickly set up (online) the ability to make payments to PayPal directly from your credit card, debit card, or personal bank account.

    PayPal is free for you to use as there is no fee charged to you for using their system to purchase something (they charge their fee to the seller). They are a very large international financial institution that is owned & operated by ebay. They do billions of dollars of transactions per year.

    Using secured web pages such as the PayPal payment system we use is the most secure way to protect your credit card & financial information. Secured web pages are portrayed by the https in the URL address of the web page & by the visual symbol of a padlock in your browser window. It is even more secure than encrypted email. It is what online banking uses.

    The benefit to you in making your payment through PayPal is that you will be able to keep your credit card or debit card information private & confidential. PayPal will be the only institution that ends up knowing your credit card or debit card number, expiry date, etc. (ie. neither we nor any other company you pay online through PayPal will ever get a copy of this).  PayPal makes totally separate deposits to us that do not include your credit card, debit card or banking details. PayPal will also not forward your address & phone number to us.

    Online payments are processed immediately. You will be sent an email receipt by PayPal within a couple seconds.

    In order to process a credit card or debit card payment to us through PayPal, you will only need to type out (online) the usual credit card or debit card information you would normally give for any other over the phone or online credit card purchase. This includes typing out the 3 or 4 digit code on the back of your credit card, that follows the last 4 digits of your credit card number. Entering your credit card or debit card information online for each separate PayPal purchase you make on the internet can be done only by those from the USA, Canada & the UK without having to register your credit card or debit card details with PayPal. Those from all other countries must first register your credit card or debit card details with PayPal (those from the USA, Canada & the UK have the choice of whether to register or not).

    Registering with PayPal involves setting up a password (you choose it) protected account. This helps to further eliminate the risk of online credit card duplication / fraud / theft. All that is involved is giving them (online) your email address, phone #, address, & either your credit card, debit card or bank account details (whichever you wish to use in order to make PayPal payments). It can be set up online in a few minutes. Clicking onto any of our "Buy Now" PayPal buttons will take you to a PayPal page where you enter your credit card or debit card information & are then given the option of clicking onto a separate link to register these financial details with PayPal.

    If you choose toregister your credit card or debit card details with PayPal, you will then be given the option of registering your bank account details if you wish to pay directly from your bank account instead of using a credit card or debit card. If you choose to register your bank account details with PayPal, you will initially need to wait from 3-5 business days (not including weekends) for them to check & verify your information before you will be able to make a purchase through PayPal directly from your bank account. During these 3-5 business days, PayPal will make 2 payments into your bank account (a few cents or pennies in your country's currency). They will then ask you to tell them how much they have deposited into your bank account in each of these 2 deposits. This enables PayPal to be sure it is really your own bank account that you are registering. It is a protective measure to help eliminate the possibility of someone else fraudulently registering your bank account.

    Having the choice of not having to first register with PayPal will gradually expand to more & more countries over time, as Canada & the UK did not used to have this choice.

    Once you click onto any of our "Buy Now" PayPal buttons, about 1/2 way down the "Checkout" page you are taken to, under the email & password log-in boxes, it says "Don't have a PayPal account? Click here". Clicking onto that button will take you to a "Billing Information" page where you can fill in your credit card type, card number, expiry date, name, address, email & phone number. After filling in this information, if you choose to register your information with them by clicking onto the relevant button, you will then be taken to a page where you will be able to create a "password" of your choice, which will enable you to make future purchases with us or any other online website that uses PayPal, without ever having to again re-enter your credit card type, card number, name, address, etc.. All you will need to do is type in your PayPal password.

    At any point in the process before finalizing your payment, you can bail out of their payment process with no obligations. You can look around inside their payment pages & experiment with them somewhat in order to familiarize yourself, without having to finalize a payment. PayPal will not receive any information you type into the boxes if you do not finalize your payment. You can go back to a previous PayPal form / page by clicking the "Back" button in the upper left of your computer monitor. You will also be able to get back into our website's "Booking Appointments" page by clicking onto the "Back" button enough times. A message will ask if you want to leave a "secure" site (theirs) in order to go back to our website. Simply click "yes".

    Once in PayPal online, if  you are paying in the currency of another country (55 countries), you will have the choice of having either PayPal or your credit card company do the conversion to the Canadian dollar amounts we charge. If you make the payment from your bank account instead of from a credit card, then your bank will be your only option for the currency conversion.

   PayPal will disclose their currency conversion rate for your country's currency at the time of your transaction before you have finalized the "check out" procedure. If you check out your credit card company's conversion rates in advance, then you can compare & choose before you finalize your purchase whether you want to go with PayPal's or with your credit card company's conversion rate.

    To book an appointment click onto "Booking Appointments", choose either Steve or Heidi & click onto either the "email counseling" or "online & phone counseling" link under their name. You will then be able to purchase 15, 30 or 50 minutes of email counseling, or browse the available dates in the current month & then purchase whichever day & appointment time suits you best.
